Who is Bradley Michael?

Meet the Founder

Launching Buddy in a Box in January of this year has been a dream come true, but the journey started much earlier. For the past year and a half, Bradley has been devoted to building this business from the ground up, motivated by a deeply personal story.

Having lost his father to mental health struggles at a young age, Bradley has faced his own battles with mental health for as long as he can remember. He experienced significant trauma during his childhood, including the pain of losing a best friend and the instability of not having a stable home since the age of 15. He spent periods living in friends' cars, on couches, and even on the street. There were many moments when he questioned his place in the world, and he still faces difficult days. It’s been a journey filled with ups and downs.

Through these struggles, Bradley came to realise the profound importance of reaching out, connecting with others, and offering support to those who are facing similar challenges. This realisation was the driving force behind Buddy in a Box. He wanted to create something that could bring comfort, joy, and a sense of connection to people who might be feeling alone or overwhelmed.

Buddy in a Box is more than just a business; it’s a mission to spread kindness, love, and positivity. Each care package includes a plush toy meant to offer comfort and companionship, along with personalised notes and resources on mental health, reminding recipients that they are not alone and that hope is always present.

Buddy in a Box has already donated over $1000 to support several initiatives, a milestone made possible by the incredible support of the community. Seeing people come together to make a difference has been truly inspiring.
